From kinetic movements to solar power, classic to experimental, each of these chronographs has something distinct to offer.
Let’s check them out!
-
This watch is a classic 200m Seiko dive, infused with several unique aesthetic and functional qualities. The background features effervescent stripes that house the watch’s solar panels, and layers beyond that include an angled blue chapter ring with split-seconds, and framed luminous hour markers. When it comes to chronographs and dives, this timepiece is the best of both worlds.

With its bold Arabic numbers, this versatile chronograph is reminiscent of a vintage pilot watch (and would look excellent paired with an aviator bomber jacket!). Its stepped dial and contrast-stitched leather strap is a mix of sportiness and elegance. If you’re looking for a refined everyday watch that doesn’t compromise on masculinity, go for this guy.

This high-functioning timepiece takes a chronograph template, then adorns it with dressy features. Its gold-lined indices and hands, emerald face, and croco-embossed leather strap make it an excellent choice for cocktail lounges and weddings. Its 100m water resistance, screw down case back, and high calibre quartz movement ensures you can even take this watch to an off-grid campsite as well.
-
Tough and sleek, this SSB315P1 features a remarkably strong construction, which also adds to its unique style! The titanium hard-coating on the stainless steel case adds extra scratch-resistance and a fascinating aesthetic that’s in between being matte and shiny. Meanwhile the woven nylon band gives it a robust, casual look, perfect for hunting, paintball, or laser tag.

The face of this watch features a unique take on the chronograph format, with the front gold subdial taking center stage, while also color-matching the exposed screws on the case. Seiko’s innovative Kinetic Technology powers the movement using electricity generated by a rotor. Unique inside and out, few others out there will be rocking this limited edition timepiece.

The Flight Chrono is a mix of sporty and scientific, especially since the dial features a vintage slide-rule mechanical analog computer, which engineers used before calculators were invented. On top of that, the crystal is domed and the face features several reflective surfaces, so there’s a lot going on here visually. This timepiece is so busy, you’ll keep discovering new things on its dial even after months of wearing it.

If a Rolex Explorer II were a chronograph, it would be this elegant field watch. The face is a stark white with subtle sky blue accents, while the indices and hands feature a heavy outline for legibility. At a moderately-sized 40mm, gents of most wrist sizes can easily sport this watch with their summer pastels or winter whites.
-
Another unique offering from Seiko, the generously-sized 46mm case and the robust resin strap give this chronograph a utilitarian tool watch aesthetic. However, the autumnal color palette and complex layering make it sleek and fashion-forward. It also runs on Seiko’s Caliber 7T04, a Japanese quartz known for its precision.

The SSC019 is not just a great Seiko chronograph, but one of the coolest Pepsi bezels out there. It’s exceedingly multi-dimensional, featuring a different layer for the date, the indices, and the seconds. The crown even has a red ring around it, which is a model-specific touch that proves these chronograph divers aren’t just cookie-cutter color variations.
A Wide Range Of Seiko Chronograph Styles
Seiko makes chronographs in a wider range of styles than most brands do. This is why I often recommend them to collectors who think they might not be into chronographs -maybe you just haven’t found the right one for you!
